On Monday, 11/18/24, the fire department was requested to the parking lot of the community center for a reported brush fire close to the building. First arriving units found a 20 by 20 ft area of brush and fencing on fire threatening the apartment building next door. Engine 1 quickly stretched 1 hand line and started to knock down the fire while the truck assisted with overhaul and checked the roof of the apartment building for any extension. The fire was knocked down within 10 minutes of the initial dispatch and no extension was found to the near by building. Scene was then turned over to the fire official. Good job by all!
